Hands on EyeTV

I got to test the EyeTV digital receiver and recorder for Macintosh and I'm pleasantly surprised how well it works. The setup was straight forward plug, install and play. Basically, I now have a full digital TV in my Mac. The TV has actually been on since I installed it. It has been running on a background window playing music videos from The Voice channel.

I also briefly tested the recording. You can see a recorded music video running behind the EyeTV window. I saved it in DV format and fired it up in QuickTime Player.

This could really be something for me, but I'm getting an Intel MacBook Pro and EyeTV is not universal binary yet. Well, maybe after receiving the MacBook I can test EyeTV again to see how well it performs on Rosetta.
